Λητοῦς ὠδίνων ἱερὴ τροφέ, τὴν ἀσάλευτον
Αἰγαίῳ Κρονίδης ὡρμίσατ᾽ ἐν πελάγει,
οὒ νύ σε δειλαίην, μὰ τεούς, δέσποινα, βοήσω,
δαίμονας, οὐδὲ λόγοις ἕψομαι Ἀντιπάτρου:

ὀλβίζω δ᾽, ὅτι Φοῖβον ἐδέξαο, καὶ μετ᾽ Ὄλυμπον
Ἄρτεμις οὐκ ἄλλην ἢ σὲ λέγει πατρίδα.

Holy nurse of Leda's babes, whom Zeus anchored immovably in the Aegean main! I swear, gracious lady, by thy own gods, that I will not call thee wretched or follow the verses of Antipater.
