σεισμῶν μὲν κρυερῶν ἔφυγες στονόεσσαν ἀπειλήν,
ἡνίκα Νικαίης ἄστυ μίγη δαπέδῳ:
νούσῳ δ᾽ ἀργαλέῃ ζωὴν λίπες. ὦ νεότητος
σώφρονος, ὦ σοφίης, κάλλιμε Καισάριε.

Thou escapedst the roaring menace of the cruel
earthquake when Nicaea was levelled with the
ground, and didst perish by painful disease. ()
