μουσοπόλον, ῥητῆρα, δικασπόλον, ἄκρον ἅπαντα,
τύμβος ὅδ᾽ εὐγενέτην Μαρτινιανὸν ἔχω,
ναυμάχον ἐν πελάγεσσιν, ἀρήιον ἐν πεδίοισιν
ἀλλ᾽ ἀποτῆλε τάφου, πρίν τι κακὸν παθέειν.

This tomb holds noble Martinianus, an orator, a
judge, excelling in everything, a brave warrior at sea,
valiant on land. But keep far from his tomb, lest
thou suffer some evil.
