οὐ χεῖμα Νικόφημον, οὐκ ἄστρων δύσις
ἁλὸς Λιβύσσης κύμασιν κατέκλυσεν
ἀλλ᾽ ἐν γαλήνῃ, φεῦ τάλας, ἀνηνέμῳ
πλόῳ πεδηθείς, ἐφρύγη δίψευς ὕπο.

καὶ τοῦτ᾽ ἀήτεων ἔργον: ἆ πόσον κακὸν
ναύταισιν ἢ πνέοντες ἢ μεμυκότες.
