Λυσίππης ὁ νεογνὸς ἀπὸ κρημνοῦ πάις ἕρπων
Ἀστυανακτείης ἤρχετο δυσμορίης:
ἡ δὲ μεθωδήγησεν ἀπὸ στέρνων προφέρουσα
μαζόν, τὸν λιμοῦ ῥύτορα καὶ θανάτου.

Lysippe's baby, creeping over the edge of a pre-
cipice, was on the point of suffering the fate of
Astyanax. But she turned it from its path by holding
out to it her breast, that thus was its saviour from
death as well as from famine.
