οὐ μόνον εὐάροτον βόες οἴδαμεν αὔλακα τέμνειν,
ἀλλ᾽ ἴδε κἠκ πόντου νῆας ἐφελκόμεθα:
ἔργα γὰρ εἰρεσίης δεδιδάγμεθα: καὶ σύ, θάλασσα,
δελφῖνας γαίῃ ζεῦξον ἀροτροφορεῖν.

We oxen are not only skilled in cutting straight
furrows with the plough, but, look, we pull ships out
of the sea too. For we have been taught the task of
oarsmen. Now, sea, thou too shouldst yoke dolphins
to plough on the land.
