κάλλιμος ἠιθέων Εὐφήμιος, εἴποτ᾽ ἔην γε:
κάλλιμος ἐν χώροις χῶρος ὅδ᾽ ἠλύσιος:
τοὔνεκεν εἰς ἓν ἄγερθεν ἐπεὶ ζωὴν μὲν ἔλειψεν,
οὔνομα δ᾽ ἐν χώρῳ κάλλιπεν ἠγαθέῳ.

Euphemius was the most beautiful among the
young men, if ever indeed there was such a one, and
this Elysian place is most beautiful among places.
Therefore were they united. He lost his lite, but
left his name to a lovely spot.
