πῖνέ νυν ἐν Διὸς ὤν, ὦ Σώκρατες: ἦ σε γὰρ ὄντως
καὶ σοφὸν εἶπε θεὸς, καὶ θεὸς ἡ Σοφία.
πρὸς γὰρ Ἀθηναίων κώνειον ἁπλῶς σὺ ἐδέξω,
αὐτοὶ δ᾽ ἐξέπιον τοῦτο τεῷ στόματι.

Sei finalmente con Zeus: bevi, Socrate! Saggio ti disse
il dio, te disse la saggezza dio.
Se gli Ateniesi a te la cicuta la diedero, a berla
per bocca tua non furono che loro.

Of a truth a god called you wise and Wisdom is a

your mouth .
