τῶνδέ ποτὲ στέρνοισι τανυγλώχινας ὀιστοὺς
λοῦσεν φοινίσσᾳ θοῦρος Ἄρης ψακάδι.
ἀντὶ δ᾽ ἀκοντοδόκων ἀνδρῶν μνημεῖα θανόντων.
ἄψυχ᾽ ἐμψύχων, ἅδε κέκευθε κόνις.

Once in the breasts of these men did Ares wash
