ἔφθανεν Ἡλιόδωρος, ἐφέσπετο δ᾽, οὐδ᾽ ὅσον ὥρῃ
ὕστερον, ἀνδρὶ φίλῳ Διογένεια δάμαρ.
ἄμφω δ᾽, ὡς ἅμ᾽ ἔναιον, ὑπὸ πλακὶ τυμβεύονται,
ξυνὸν ἀγαλλόμενοι καὶ τάφον ὡς θάλαμον.

Heliodorus went first, and even less than in an hour, his wife, Diogenia, followed her dead husband. Both, even as they dwelt together, are interred under one stone, happy to share one tomb, as erst to share one chamber.
