εἴ με νέκυν κατέθαπτες ἰδὼν οἰκτίρμονι θυμῷ,
εἶχες ἂν ἐκ μακάρων μισθὸν ἐπ᾽ εὐσεβίῃ:
νῦν δ᾽ ὅτε δὴ τύμβῳ με κατακρύπτεις ὁ φονεύσας,
τῶν αὐτῶν μετέχοις ὧνπερ ἐμοὶ παρέχεις.
Si, à la vue de mon cadavre, tu m'avais enseveli d'un coeur pitoyable, tu aurais reçu des bienheureux la récompense de ta piété; mais puisque tu me caches dans ma tombe, toi mon meurtrier, puisses-tu partager le sort que tu m'infliges!
