ἅδ᾽ ἐγὼ ἁ τλάμων Ἀρετὰ παρὰ τῷδε κάθημαι
Αἴαντος τύμβῳ κειραμένα πλοκάμους,
θυμὸν ἄχει μεγάλῳ βεβολημένα, εἰ παρ᾽ Ἀχαιοῖς
ἁ δολόφρων Ἀπάτα κρέσσον ἐμεῦ δύναται.

Io sono qui, miseranda Virtú con la chioma recisa,
seduta presso il tumulo d'Aiace,
vinta da grave dolore nel cuore, ché subdola Frode
ha piú di me, presso gli Achei, potere.
