τὸν πτανὸν Ἑρμᾶν, τὸν θεῶν ὑπηρέταν,
τὸν Ἀρκάδων ἄνακτα, τὸν βοηλάταν,
ἑστῶτα τῶνδε γυμνασίων ἐπίσκοπον,
ὁ νυκτικλέπτας Αὖλος εἶπε βαστάσας:


πολλοὶ μαθηταὶ κρείσσονες διδασκάλων.
