ἰητρὸς τὴν γραῦν εἴτ᾽ ἔκλυσεν, εἴτ᾽ ἀπέπνιξεν,
οὐδεὶς γινώσκει: δαιμόνιον τὸ τάχος.
ὁ ψόφος ἦν κλυστῆρος ἐν οὔασι, καὶ στεφανοῦτο
ἡ σορός, οἱ δ᾽ ἄλλοι τὸν φακὸν ηὐτρέπισαν.
