Νικίεω πόνος οὗτος: ἀειζώουσα Νεκυία
ἤσκημαι πάσης ἠρίον ἡλικίης:
δώματα δ᾽ Αἰδωνῆος ἐρευνήσαντος Ὁμήρου
γέγραμμαι κείνου πρῶτον ἀπ᾽ ἀρχετύπου.

It was Homer who explored the house of Hades, and
I am copied from him as my first original.
