Αἰόλον ἱμεροθαλὲς ἔαρ φαίνουσα, μέλισσα
ξουθά, ἐφ᾽ ὡραίοις ἄνθεσι μαινομένα,
χῶρον ἐφ᾽ ἡδύπνοον πωτωμένα, ἔργα τίθευ σύ,
ὄφρα τεὸς πλήθῃ κηροπαγὴς θάλαμος.

Bee, that revealest the presence of many-coloured
spring in her delightful bloom ; yellow bee, revelling
in the prime of the flowers ; fly to the sweetly-
scented field and busy thyself with thy work, that
thy waxen chambers may be filled.
