Λὐκτιον ἰοδόκην καὶ καμπύλον, Ἄρτεμι, τόξον
Νῖκις ὁ Λυσιμάχου παῖς ἀνέθηκε Λίβυς:
ἰοὺς γὰρ πλήθοντας ἀεὶ λαγόνεσσι φαρέτρης
δορκάσι καὶ βαλίαις ἐξεκένωσ᾽ ἐλάφοις.

Nicis the Libyan, son of Lysimachus, dedicates
his Cretan quiver and curved bow to thee, Artemis; for he had exhausted the arrows that filled the belly of the quiver by shooting at does and dappled hinds.
