ἑσπερίου Μάρκελλος ἀνερχόμενος πολέμοιο
σκυλοφόρος κραναῆς τέλσα παρ᾽ Ἰταλίης,
ξανθὴν πρῶτον ἔκειρε γενειάδα: βούλετο πατρὶς
οὕτως, καὶ πέμψαι παῖδα καὶ ἄνδρα λαβεῖν.
