Texts

οἴδατ᾽, ἀποπτῆναι δ᾽ οὐδ᾽ ὅσον ἰσχύετε;

— Paton edition

The noise of Love is ever in my ears, and my eyes in silence bring their tribute of sweet tears to Desire. Nor night nor daylight lays love to rest, and already the spell has set its well-known stamp on my heart. Ο winged Loves, is it that ye are able to fly to us, but have no strength at all to fly away ?
