Texts

οἴνῳ; τίς δὲ καλοὺς οὐ περίεργα βλέπει;

— Paton edition

Either be not jealous with your friends about your slave boys, or do not provide girlish-looking cup-bearers. For who is of adamant against love, or who succumbs not to wine,, and who does not look curiously at pretty boys ? This is the way of living men, but if you like, Diophon, go away to some place where there is no love and no drunkenness, and there induce Tiresias or Tantalus to drink with you, the one to see nothing and the other only to see.
