Texts

— Paton edition

This place was once a garden, and the shade of
the leaves shutting out the sun made it like night.
But now Sergius, the patriarch, who hath seen with
his eyes and reveals the mysteries of the Holy
Trinity, contrived to make it bright and sunlit.
Here this fixed stone seven times 1 announces the
eternal and fixed revolutions of the vault of heaven.
