αὔλακι καὶ γήρᾳ τετρυμένον ἐργατίνην βοῦν
Ἄλκων οὐ φονίην ἤγαγε πρὸς κοπίδα,
αἰδεσθεὶς ἔργων ὁ δέ που βαθέῃ ἐνὶ ποίῃ
μυκηθμοῖς ἀρότρου τέρπετ᾽ ἐλευθερίῃ.
