ἔνθεν Ἀλέξανδρος Μακεδὼν πίεν ἀγλαὸν ὕδωρ:
μητρὸς δ᾽ εἶπε γάλακτι πανείκελα ῥεύματα πηγῆς,
ᾗ καὶ Ὀλυμπιάδος πόρεν οὔνομα, σῆμα δὲ τοῦτο.

From this fountain Alexander of Macedon drank
splendid water, and said its streams were like his
mother's milk. Hence he named it Olympias, as
this stone testifies.
