τίνας ἂν εἴποι λόγους Ἀλθαία παρακαλοῦσα τὸν Μελέαγρον
τέκνον ἐμόν, γενεῆς ἐπιλήθεαι, οὐδ᾽ ἀλεγίζῃ
πατρίδος ὀλλυμένης, βριαρὴν δ᾽ ἀπόειπες ἀκωκήν,
αἰσχύνων Καλυδῶνα καὶ Οἰνέα καὶ ναετῆρας.
