Texts

— Paton edition

The raging flame is extinct ; I suffer no longer, Ο Cypris ; but I am dying of cold. For after having devoured my flesh, this bitter love, panting hard in his greed, creeps through my bones and vitals. So the altar fire, when it hath lapped up all the sacrifice, cools down of its own accord for lack of fuel to feed it.
