γηράσκει καὶ χαλκὸς ὑπὸ χρόνου: ἀλλὰ σὸν οὔτι
κῦδος ὁ πᾶς αἰών, Διόγενες, καθελεῖ:
μοῦνος ἐπεὶ βιοτᾶς αὐτάρκεα δόξαν ἔδειξας
θνητοῖς, καὶ ζωῆς οἶμον ἐλαφροτάτην.
εἰς τὰς ἐν τῷ Ἱπποδρόμῳ Κωνσταντινουπόλεως
στήλας τῶν ἀθλητῶν ἐπιγράμματα.
