Ξανθίππης, καὶ πῦρ ἄρτι καταρχόμενον,
ὦ ψυχή, φλέξει σε: τὸ δ᾽ ἐκ τίνος, ἢ πότε, καὶ πῶς,
οὐκ οἶδα: γνώσῃ, δύσμορε, τυφομένη.
